    • translate clients’ functional and spatial requirements for structures into feasible design solutions, incorporating custom detailing, structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; incorporate space planning and programming and custom detailing into designs; site survey of existing conditions and take as built measurements.

    • analyze sketches, photographs, notes, and other input material from site survey to determine best approaches for completion of drawings to solve technical issues of design in relation to sites and buildings.

    • coordinate input from multiple senior designers and principals to translate into design solutions; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input.

    • develop documents for all design phases, schematic design through construction documents including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details in imperial or metric standards for jurisdictional agency corrections using 3D modeling software including Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Autodesk Revit, Sketchup, and 2D programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint.

    • utilize independent thinking and develop concept alternatives, studies and development requiring 3D digital massing, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives.

    • produce computer visualizations based on digital building models throughout entire design process to examine design solutions in a 3D environment and to facilitate the workflow of coordination with mechanical, structural, lighting consultants.

    • coordinate conceptual design drawings with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), civil, structural, acoustic, lighting, telecom, graphics, interiors and landscape consultants to incorporate building systems into architectural designs to produce construction documentation and secure client and regulatory approval.

    • participate in research and selection of building materials for construction and work with consultants, vendors, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.

    • research domestic and international building codes and regulations, collect data, and incorporate research and data into architectural designs.

    • conduct material and product research for exteriors and interiors.

    • work in conjunction with sustainable design leadership in the continued improvement and development of high performance design to maintain and improve the quality and consistency of design environment and deliverables.

    • perform construction administration via site visits, field observation and meetings to review the progress of construction.

    • assist in evaluating general contractor bids, estimates, and contract budgets.

    • coordinating with project architects, project managers, clients, consultants, and contractors to respond to requests for information (RFI’s), clarifications, and modifications.

    • apply architectural principles to review contractors shop drawings, submittals, samples and mock ups.

    Qualifications:
